The ONLY Mango Matcha Latte Recipe You'll Need

What is matcha ? And Mango in Matcha? Are you sure ?

As sure as we are of how tasty this recipe is gonna turn out!
Matcha is a bright green powder made from specially grown green tea leaves — think of it as green tea’s cooler, more energetic cousin!

Heyy there, my fellow chai and chill lovers!

I’m Drishti, the founder of All About Chai, and today I’m opening the doors to my summer kitchen (and my heart) to share something super special with you. This recipe is what I like to call “The ONLY Mango Matcha Latte Recipe You'll Need”  and trust me, the name says it all.

It’s layered, it’s refreshing, it’s aesthetic AF, and it’s packed with flavour and nutrition. I’ve been making this on repeat lately  for myself, for guests, and sometimes just for Instagram (you’ll see why in a bit ).

Let’s get into it.

Ingredients of your Mango Matcha Latte

These are simple, easily available ingredients and you can tweak them a little based on your taste and dietary preferences.

  • 1 ripe mango (The riper, the better. Alphonso? Yes please.)
  • 2–4 grams of All About Chai Matcha (adjust to taste , I like mine strong!)
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional –-white or brown both work)
  • ½ cup milk (dairy or plant-based – oat, almond, or even coconut are yum)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional, but adds a gentle floral note)
  • Warm water (not boiling! Around 80°C is perfect for matcha)
  • Soaked chia seeds (just soak a teaspoon in water for 10–15 minutes)
  • Ice cubes (optional but highly recommended on hot days)

Now that we’ve got our ingredients, let’s get mixing, layering, and creating something magical.

Step 1: Mango Prep – The Sunshine Base

Okay, mango lovers, this one’s for you.

Start by peeling your mango and slicing it up. Keep aside a few pretty little chunks for topping later  these will float on your drink like golden jewels.

The rest? Toss it into a blender and give it a good whirl until it turns into a thick, smooth purée. Think aamras but with a little more attitude.

Pro Tip :
If your mango isn’t sweet enough, you can add a tiny bit of sugar  but honestly, the best mangoes need zero help. Let nature do the talking.

Step 2: Sift Your All About Chai Matcha

Time for the star ingredient: All About Chai Matcha.

Take 2–4 grams of your All About Chai matcha powder and sift it into a bowl using a fine strainer or tea sieve. This little extra step removes lumps and gives you that silky-smooth matcha finish.

Think of this as pampering your matcha a little. It deserves it  and so do you.

Step 3: Let’s Whisk – Meditative and Frothy

Now the fun begins!

Pour a little warm water (not hot , around 80°C is the sweet spot) into your bowl of sifted matcha. Just enough to create a smooth paste.

Then, take your bamboo whisk (chasen) or an electric frother and start whisking with love. Use a zig-zag “W” or “M” motion : this helps trap air and makes your matcha super frothy.

Bonus Moment:
Take a deep breath. Smell that earthy, fresh, slightly grassy aroma? That’s pure matcha goodness, and your personal little caffeine cloud.

Step 4: Time to Build the Layers – Your Masterpiece Begins

Take out a tall, clear glass , because we’re going for those gorgeous, Instagrammable layers.

  • First, pour in the mango purée. This forms the sunny base.
  • Next, pour your milk slowly over the mango layer. Don’t fill it all the way to the top yet , we’re saving space for matcha magic.
  • Didn’t add sugar earlier? You can mix in a teaspoon of honey now. Stir gently to combine. The sweetness + the mango = dreamy.

Step 5: The Matcha Moment – Crown Your Creation

Now it’s time to go green

Slowly , and I mean slowly ,pour the whisked matcha over the back of a spoon or directly into the glass. This technique helps the matcha float above the milk and creates that perfect layered look.

Watch the vibrant green swirl in over the white and yellow layers like a little summer storm. So satisfying.

Step 6: Top It Off – Texture Meets Taste

Remember those mango chunks we saved? It’s their time to shine!

Drop them gently over the top of your drink, like little fruity gems. Then, spoon in some of those soaked chia seeds.

They add this lovely jelly-like texture and bring a little extra nutrition to the table. Think Omega-3s, fibre, and all the good stuff.

Step 7: Chill It (Optional but Glorious)

If you want your drink to lean more towards a smoothie-dessert, pop the glass into the fridge for 5–15 minutes.

It thickens up beautifully and gives you a cool, creamy, layered treat. Add ice cubes if you're impatient (like me, most days) and want that instant chill.

A Few Little Tips From My Kitchen to Yours:

  • If you want a vegan version, oat milk makes it super creamy.
  • Want extra crunch? Add some crushed nuts or granola on top.
  • Fancy it spicier? A teeny pinch of cardamom in the mango purée tastes divine.
  • Hosting friends? Serve it in mini glasses as a layered summer welcome drink.

And there you have it , your very own Mango Matcha Magic.

It’s a drink, a dessert, a mood, and a summer story , all in one glass. Whether you're sipping it in your balcony, carrying it to a picnic, or sharing it with your besties, I hope it brings you the same joy it brings me.

Because sometimes, magic really is just mango, matcha, and a little bit of you-time.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Is Mango Matcha Healthy?

Matcha is packed with antioxidants, especially catechins like EGCG, which can help with energy, metabolism, and even calming focus.
Mango is full of vitamins (like vitamin C and A), fiber, and natural sweetness, making it a great addition without needing processed sugar.

Use a natural sweetner, like honey, instead of sugar and you have a healthier caffeine dose ready for that afternoon slump.

Ofcourse, don't overconsume.
